Cooperation with Power Utilities of ASEAN Countries

In order to enhance cooperation with developing countries, we are cooperating with electric power companies in ASEAN countries in human resource development as an independent project. Since 1991, with the cooperation of electric power companies, we have been conducting training in Japan (acceptance training) and sending experts to partner countries to hold seminars (local seminars) every year. The countries where we have cooperated since 1991 are as follows.

FY1991:Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand training started (1992: Indonesia, Philippines, 1993: Thailand, 1995: Malaysia local seminar started)
FY1998:Vietnam local seminar started
FY1999:Vietnam training started
FY2001:Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand country-specific training reorganized into four-country joint group training
FY2005:Myanmar training and local seminar started/Malaysia, Thailand ended
FY2006:Seminar (joint training) started for Cambodia and Laos in cooperation with Malaysia and Thailand/Reorganized into Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam three-country joint group training
FY2010:Philippines local seminar Completed
FY2011:Cambodia and Laos inbound training and local seminars started
FY2015:Philippines inbound training ended
FY2019:Sri Lanka inbound training trial started
FY2020:Online seminars held with Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, and Sri Lanka
FY2021:Online seminars held with Laos, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka
FY2022:Cambodia and Laos inbound training resumed, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia inbound seminars resumed
FY2023:Vietnam inbound training resumed, Sri Lanka inbound seminar started

As of the end of FY2024, 115 inbound training sessions have been held, a total of 692 trainees have been accepted, 149 local seminars have been held, 492 experts have been dispatched, and 6,782 people have attended seminars.
